If you own a laptop, then you may face a problem of your device CPU stuck at low speed of 0.75 GHz – 0.78 GHz. I faced the same problem and my laptop started lagging too much. Even simple tasks made it lag. Finally, I solved the problem of CPU Stuck at Low Speed by simply installing a program called ThrottleStop.
How to Stop CPU Stuck at Low Speed
- Download ThrottleStop.
- Once download, run the program in administrator mode.
- Check “Set CPU Multiplier.”
- Uncheck “BD PROCHOT.”
- Hit save and then turn on.
- Now see your CPU speed.
If you face “mfc120u.dll” or similar .dll not found error while running ThrottleStop, download the Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 package and install it. If you are running 64-bit operating system, the install both x86 and x64 versions of the software. For those running 32-bit windows, installing x86 only will solve the problem.
