Pre-requisites

How to Unlock OnePlus 7 Pro Bootloader

  1. Enable developer options on your OnePlus 7 Pro. Go to Settings > About phone > tap Build number 7 times. Go back to Settings > Developer options > check OEM unlocking and USB debugging.
  2. Open command prompt (CMD) and navigate to your minimal ADB folder (open minimal ADB folder, press shift + right-click and select “open command windows here“.)
  3. Connect your device to PC.
  4. Copy Magisk Manager apk and TWRP zip file into phone’s internal storage.
  5. In CMD type:
    adb reboot bootloader
  6. Once the device reboots into bootloader, type:
    fastboot oem unlock
  7. Use the volume keys to highlight “Unlock the bootloader,” then press your power button to select it.
  8. Your device will reboot and the bootloader will be unlocked.

How to Install TWRP Recovery on OnePlus 7 Pro

  1. Connect your phone to PC.
  2. Navigate to ADB folder, open CMD and type:
    adb reboot bootloader
  3. Check which slot is currently active on your device by typing
    fastboot getvar current-slot
  4. Select the non-active slot by typing:
    fastboot --set-active="slot name" e.g fastboot --set-active=b
  5. Once the device boots into bootloader, type:
    fastboot boot [recoveryname].img
  6. In TWRP recovery, tap on reboot and select the previously active slot.
  7. Now go back and tap on Install and flash the TWRP installer.
  8. Once flashed, go back and tap on reboot.

TWRP recovery is successfully installed on your OnePlus 7 pro.
